This was a strange little show. It was not high budget, to say the least. The MC delivered his comments in a monotone voice through a microphone, which he could only do when he abruptly turned down the volume knob on a stereo blaring Europe's "The Final Countdown". Every four or five seconds he would cut the volume, utter a comment, then crank the music again. Everyone seemed to get a kick out of him.
The performers were amazingly quick, and how they dodged the lunging snakes was impressive. The snakes were indeed poisonous, as they showed the audience by forcing their fangs into saran wrap over a drinking glass into which dripped venom. They allowed the audience an opportunity to kiss a snake's head, but there were only a few takers. I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It's supposedly good luck.
