Diving in Thailand - Ko Phi Phi

This sand was so hot you couldn't walk on it barefoot.

Paula (pronounced "Pow-la") from Brazil, the Dive Leader.

Robert and Monday, pictured above, are a couple that became great friends with me, and we had dinner together. They're from Beijing China. Monday is going to have their first baby. She snorkeled while Robert and I were scuba diving. Robert spoke perfect English while Monday didn't understand a word. He is an investment banker in China. I asked him if he was profiting like the investment bankers of New York and London do, and he said, tactfully, that the rules in China are different for compensation. If he was in New York, he'd be on his way to being a millionaire, no doubt in my mind.

This was our dive boat, as the larger dive boat was in for repairs. I was able to sit on the edge and fall backward to enter the water, just like you see in the movies, or old Jacques Cousteau documentaries. It's no big deal since you just immediately rise to surface because of the inflation of the BCD prior to submersion. It's actually more fun jumping in from the larger boat aft platforms.

The water was so clear you could see extremely far into its depths.

This thing I'm holding is a member of the starfish family.

The normal rule is - Don't touch the coral - but some things you CAN touch without harming them . . .

In fact, some things will harm YOU. . . this sea spike urchin is poisonous, and the poison is extremely painful.
