Ko Phi Phi, March 2006
These two people are Robert and Monday from Beijing, China. I had scuba dived with Robert that day. Monday is pregnant with their first baby.
Very nice couple!

The band in the distance called for requests. I yelled "the Beatles!" There were two older women on the table to my left from Liverpool, and . . . I could not make this story up, I swear to God . . . these women had both attended the Cavern Club in Liverpool before the Beatles hit it big. They had seen the early Beatles perform there many times with Pete Best on drums and later with Ringo on drums. My requesting the Beatles had brought the whole story up. These ladies were great, and I regret not taking a photo of them! One of them had a huge crush on John Lennon in the day, and she had had conversations with Lennon himself. (I'm sitting there thinking, "Two degrees of separation from greatness. Two degrees!") The band called people up to sing, kind of like a Karoake thing. Everyone got into it, and the next thing I knew I was up there singing Beatles songs, and the two ladies from Liverpool stood up and danced, and Robert and Monday got up and danced too!! What a great night! I'm sure I made a fool of myself, but who cares, everyone had a good time, and little Thai kids were dancing on the Beach too.

Singing Beatles. The guys beside me were the band leaders.
I did McCartney, and the guy on my right did Lennon. We actually drew a crowd. With tomatoes.

Cut the power, someone!

What a great night. Thailand rules!
